Spring Cleaning Ideas

I just love spring! I love it even more so, now that I live in a place that has actual seasons. Growing up in the Seattle area, we basically had the wet season (OctoberJuly 4th) and then Summer (the rest of the year).  Living in the Tri Cities, I have so enjoyed watching the trees have their leaves turn in fall, fall off in the winter, blooming in spring and bearing fruit in the summer.

I love the idea of coming out of the cold months, opening the windows and airing out the house on a warm spring day and getting my spring cleaning list out to do some of those deep cleaning tasks that help us get ready for busy summers.

Some of the things on my list this spring are:

  1. Taking everything out of underneath my kitchen and bathroom sinks, cleaning underneath’
  2. Wiping down all of the cabinets in our house, including bathrooms)
  3. Wiping down all of the floor trim (dust & grime gets accumulated on our trim so quickly)
  4. .Cleaning out my pantry and re-organizing (my daughter all ready did this for me,,,she’s pretty amazing!)

5. Purging my garage…this will take a few months, but I want to get it done before summer….because it just gets too hot!!

I wanted to share some of my favorite Spring Cleaning products with you!

  1. Easy Liner® brand shelf liner with Clorox–

One of the reasons that I love this shelf liner is that its antimicrobial and machine washable! Isn’t that amazing?? So when your under sink area, drawers or pantry shelves get dirty, you can easily refresh them by tossing them in the wash!  They also have Clorox  protection embedded into them to help fight mold and mildew (like in the back corners of under the kitchen sink)…and this stuff still works, even after washing! The top is smooth so that your newly organized items will slide over the top, while the bottom is created to grip and stay in place. These functional and antimicrobial shelf-liners are available in white or taupe too!

2. Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy Sponges- (as seen on Shark Tank and Beyond the Tank)Scrub Daddy Sponges

Talk about bringing a little bit of joy into your dirty jobs of Spring cleaning! These little happy sponges are full of smiles, but they are hard little workers too! There are so many different ways you can use these scrubbers. I think the most interesting thing about the Scrub Daddy is that you only need to change the water temperature to change the dynamics of what this diverse scrubber can do. In warm water, it becomes soft, for a more sponge like texture and in cold water, it becomes hard again, for tough, dried on stains or pans. It is designed not to scratch anything.

My two favorite things about it though is it’s cute smile and the fact that this product isn’t made by a massively huge corporation. I love that a dude had an idea about making a better sponge…and he went out there, worked hard and created a product that people really like! The entrepreneur inside me loves it!

scrub mommy spring cleaningScrub Mommy is a multi tasker too! She is duel sided scrubber on one side and sponge on the other.  Her sponge side is extra absorbent (6x more than the other leading brand) and because of the suds-generating properties, it takes less soap to produce a rich lather!

Both Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy can be cleaned out with a few squeezes and sanitized if you toss them into the top rack of your dishwasher or microwave.

3. Simple Green: All-Purpose Cleaner & Stone Cleaner and PolishSimple Green Spring Cleaning

If you have read many of my blog posts, you know that I’m on a quest to remove toxins from as many areas of our family life as we can. Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner is a great product that cleans incredibly well, while still being non-toxic! You can dilute this all-purpose cleaner into different dilutions for different applications, because it comes concentrated. You can also use it right out of the bottle for tough clean-up jobs! I love that I can keep a bottle of this on my laundry room for pre-treating clothing stains (YES! IT DOES THIS!!), for when the baby misses his diaper, when the cat misses her litter box (hello non-toxic carpet cleaner!) or when you want to clean up your floor trim, like I do! One bottle does all of that, plus kitchen counters, bathrooms and tabletops. Pretty incredible stuff!

Simple Green Stone Cleaner and Polish is perfect for cleaning granite, travertine, marble and any tile or stone you might have. My husband owned a tile installation business for 13 years and was constantly asked what to clean their new beautiful tile with…this is it! 🙂 Simply spray on and wipe to remove dirt, oils and grime. It also leaves your stone with a satin shine!

4. TriNova: Wood Cleaner & Conditioner

TriNova Wood Cleaner and Conditioner is pretty incredible. I’ve been eyeing this one spot on my banister that desperately needed to be cleaned  for about 6 months now. Have you ever had that place in your house that whenever you walked past it, you thought…I need to clean that someday! Yeah…well this is my banister. Please don’t judge! 🙂

Talk about a huge difference…and it only took 15 seconds. I wanted to see just how fast this stuff works, so I sprayed it on, and wiped and scrubbed (with my Scrub Daddy!) and then wiped the excess off with a wash cloth. It was super fast and got all the gunk off in no time! I guess I don’t have any excuses on the grimy banister now! :/

Anyway…If you have finished or even unfinished wood that you would like to clean, polish and condition, TriNova Wood Cleaner and  Conditioner is the good stuff. I will be using it to clean up my cabinets in my kitchen and bathrooms soon!

Enjoy 20% off TriNova on Amazon by using coupon code: Babble20 before April 30th!
