DIY Painted Lid Up Cycled Jars
I love to upcycle. Or is it that I just hate getting rid of stuff??? I blame that on my mother, I think she still has my teeth from when I was in elementary school. Anyway! I’ve re-using jars in my pantry and bathroom for a while, and I just needed them to be cuter! So I wanted to share how I did that.
LID + SPRAYPAINT = a little bit of happiness in your day!
I know it seems to elementary, but its amazing how a simple thing like a turquoise painted lid could make me so stinking happy when I see it in my pantry. It’s the little things! It’s amazing how excited you will get when you are grocery shopping and you find a cute jar (of course its full of salsa or something) and you figure out a plan for after its original purpose…holding q-tips or coconut oil in your bathroom, maybe sugar scrub?? The possibilities are endless!!
What you need for DIY Cute Jars:
Empty Clean Used Jars with Lids (peanut butter, fruit jars, salsa jars…what ever you eat lots of!) I took the labels off and ran my jars through the dishwasher, but they still had the little pieces of glue and paper on them, so I used this no chemical method from Creek Line House. It worked like a charm!
Spray Paint of your Choice ( glossy seems to work best, in case they get dirty, they can be wiped down with a wet cloth.
What to Do:
Grab your clean lids and something to spray the lids in…of course I used an old Amazon Prime box! 🙂 One of my guilty pleasures!!!
Then spray the lids with 3 light coats of spray paint in your favorite color ( or one you have lying around….lucky for me, they are my favorite color!). If you try to do 1 thick coat, it may drip or get bubbly…and you don’t want that! Trust me, 3 or 4 light coats is better than 1 goopy one.
Let them dry! I would let them dry for about 1 hour…even though they might be dry, they will still smell…and you don’t want your house smelling like spray paint!
Fill them with your favorite stuff..or pantry items….or taco seasoning….that is what is going in one of mine! 🙂
Enjoy!
What do you do with your extra jars you have laying around???
