Out on the Farm | Travel Idaho

June 14, 2018 by Kaylee Eylander

We are starting off our Family Vacation in Idaho this year! We have had some of our most fun family trips to visit our friends, here in Idaho.  We drive 3.5 hrs to their house and they host us so well! Let let us crash and our son, Evan disappears  for days. They have 50 acres up on the prairie above Lewiston, Idaho, and the boys and girls go exploring almost as soon as we get here.

As you can imagine on 50 acres, they have lots of chickens, fruit trees, amazing views and the best thing, these incredibly sweet puppies. Our little one is an animal lover through and through. For the most part, he really has no fear of animals.

My husband and James have been friends since they were about 2 years old. They grew up in the same church as I did and I was friends with James’ older sister- all though I didn’t really know my husband very well as a kid….any way…..

James and his wife are pastors at a church in Idaho and they live on some of the most incredible 50 acres that I’ve ever seen! Classic pine trees, rolling hills and pastures. So gorgeous. One time we came here on Christmas break and it was completely covered in 12 inches of snow- all though “down below” didn’t have any snow! It was wild!
This family started breeding Great Pyrenees & Anatolian mix dogs a few years ago. I’m not really an animal person, but when a dog is huge, hairy, sweet and doesn’t bark, it all of a sudden wins my heart over. These pups are all that and they also will scare off a bear or coyote of they come around your house.  They basically sleep all day and protect at night. Pretty incredible dogs!

This morning, Elijah got up at 6:30am and I decided we should spend some time with the puppies. They followed him around like he was their shepherd and then when Elijah would take a spill, they would lick him till he couldn’t take it anymore! They were very gentle with him- it was a precious morning for sure.

We had such a fun time this morning! More pics from our Idaho Family Vacation coming soon!
