In the search for the perfect for the perfect smelling natural cleaner, a while ago, I discovered DIY Orange Peel Vinegar Kitchen Cleaner. I really liked the idea of re-using orange peels…something that I would normally toss into the garbage or compost…but my husband has an extremely sensitive nose…I mean EXTREME! He didn’t love **read disliked a lot** the smell of the vinegar in the spray. So I was back on the hunt and I finally found something that he actually liked the smell of! The amazing thing about Lemon Essential Oil is that it is naturally anti-fungal and antibacterial. Now…you might be wondering if I ‘m one of those Essential Oil sales people…no ( now I do receive a small commission from amazon if you happen to click-through and purchase Lemon Essential oil today, but I’m not a Young Living or Doterra sales person….they are just too rich for my blood)…and I’ve found that some of the essential oils I’ve found on Amazon have been great quality. Lemon Essential Oil Benefits:

Sore Throat: Lemon Essential oil can sooth a sore throat – just add a few drops to the hottest water you can stand, add a tbsp pr 2 of local honey and your (or your kiddo’s ) throat will be feeling better soon! My kids love it!
Focus and Concentration & Mood Enhancer: Have you smelled lemon oil? It is said that it will help with concentration and focus…I just love it because the smell of it reminds me of summer and makes me happy!
Natural Insect Repellent: Add some Lemon oil, peppermint essential oil and eucalyptus essential oil to water and you have a natural Insect repellent. I know I am so over putting chemical filled repellent on my kiddos! No Thanks!

I keep the ingredients in my kitchen so that when I run out, I toss this together in a minute! I LOVE not using chemicals in my kitchen anymore…and it smells divine!!!

DIY Lemon Essential Oil Kitchen Cleaner

What you need:

32 oz Spray Bottle

Lemon Essential Oil

Mrs Meyer’s Dish Soap (or other natural dish soap…this one smells so good, though! )

Water

What to do:

Fill your spray water bottle with water to about 3/4 full. Add 15 drops* of Meyers dish soap. Add 40 drops* of Lemon Essential Oil. Put on the lid, give it a shake and its ready!

*You may need to adjust the amount of dish soap and essential oil according to your water hardness and your preferred scent level preference. This is the recipe that works great for me.
