Easy Instant Pot Baby Food

Healthy baby food recipes

Have you ever wanted to make organic baby food for your little one, but wasn’t sure how? This Instant Pot Baby Food recipe is your answer! Making healthy, organic baby food is so simple and literally takes just minutes with the Instant Pot or other electric pressure cooker! If you have a baby, I suggest getting one for baby food…but also for the rest of your families easy meals!

As a mom of a 5 month old (how did he get soooo old???), I have been dabbling in the solid food land. I know some people don’t start doing solids until baby is 6 months, but man, at 20 lbs, he is like a 6 month old. His interest in eating our food started at 4 months…drooling as he watched our forks go down to our plates and back to our mouths! The first time I gave him carrots…he could not get enough! SO…now we are on the baby food train.

I recently also jumped on the Instant Pot train too. Oh my goodness. Where had this thing been all my life??? I’ve been making whole body chickens in 30 minutes, hard-boiled eggs in 6 minutes, a solid ice ball pork shoulder in 1.5 hrs…the list goes on and on! I seriously am ready to put my slow cookers away for a while, in favor of my Instant Pot! They are incredibly fast and simple to use! pressure cooker baby food recipe

I wanted to share a really quick and easy way to use an Instant Pot or other electric pressure cooker to make simple, tasty baby food that you can freeze and bring out when you need it. It is extremely frugal and a great way to make all organic baby food in just a few minutes.

The great thing about this recipe is that you can make a few different kinds of veggies all at once.Homemade Baby food recipes

Easy Baby Food Recipe – Instant Pot Recipe

Instant Pot or other electric pressure cooker

Organic Veggies (I used carrots, celery and green beans all at once)

Homemade Bone Broth (see my slow cooker recipe here) or Chicken Broth

Baby Food sized containers (i used what I had at home)

What to do for Easy Homemade Baby Food:

Wash and clean your veggies.
Leave whole, but cut of tips and ends.
Place in pressure cooker with steamer rack inside.
Place cleaned, whole veggies on rack.
Add at least 2 cups of Bone Broth to your Instant Pot
Set on Manual for 15 minutes.
Take out each group of veggies and mash in a large bowl. They will come out very soft and ready to mash-up!
Add additional bone broth or milk to thin if desired (recommended for first foods at 4-6 months)
Place in baby food sized containers and freeze for 1-3 months.
Thaw on counter to use.
