Green Beans Grilled on Cast Iron | Easy Recipe

Grilled green Bean recipe

One of my favorite things in the world to eat right now are these Cast Iron Grilled Green Beans! They are soooo stinking good! I found them at a favorite restaurant named Azul in Mill Creek, Washington and I wondered if I could ever figure out how to make them at home! What I loved about them was the little bit of char they had on them and I could never seem to get it right…until I started cooking with cast iron (there are sooooo many benefits!).

One of the benefits of cooking with cast iron is that trace amounts of iron are leached into your food as you cook in cast iron. You may be wondering if this even does anything to help our iron levels??? Why yes it does! When I was pregnant, I mentioned to my Dr. that I have had anemia for most of my adult life, so he made a note of it to check that on my blood test. Low and behold, after cooking only in cast iron for the last 2 years or so, my iron levels were totally normal! I’ve never passed the iron test until this one! It may be anecdotal, but it did work for me! And, it is way better than trace amounts of teflon being leached into your food!

Ingredients for Cast Iron Green Beans:

Cast Iron Skillet
2-4 cups of trimmed, fresh green beans ( I buy these in the bag all ready trimmed)
2 TBSP Butter
Salt & Pepper to taste

What to do:

  • Preheat Cast Iron Skillet to medium high heat.
  • Add 1 Tbsp of butter to pan and let melt.Cast Iron Pan Grilled Green Beans-1

  • Let cook for about 5 -8 minutes.
  • Stir.Let cook for about 8-10 minutes more, stirring every 4 minutes.
